Situated on the western side of Dromahane village our school, Dromahane National School, was opened in 1966. At that time 135 pupils transferred from the old Dromore School to the new building.
Today over 220 pupils attend Dromahane National School and we have a full time staff of 14 teachers and 5 SNAs. School starts at 9.20am and finishes at 3pm with the Infant classes going home at 2pm.
In Dromahane National School we follow the National Primary Curriculum as laid down by the Department of Education and Skills. We are just as concerned however with the all round development of the children in our school.
We seek to cater for their moral, spiritual, social and physical development also. To this end we provide every child the opportunity to develop at their own pace, enjoy a range of extra curricular activities and reach their own potential in a secure and safe learning environment.
On Wednesday 20th March 2024 we officially moved into our brand new school which was 18 years in the planning and we cannot believe how lucky we are now!!
